NCRC Scholarship Committee Purpose:
The North Carroll Recreation Council has established an annual scholarship to be awarded to graduating high school senior(s). The scholarship committee sets guidelines and selection criteria and overall governances for scholarship applicants. They make all necessary scholarship application form modifications, make scholarship award recommendations, recommend modifications pertaining to scholarships references in the NCRC By-Laws, and participate in scholarship committee functions. Each year new qualified recipient(s) will be awarded the NCRC Scholarship, if possible.
NCRC Scholarship Committee:
The NCRC Scholarship Committee consists of five members appointed by the NCRC President and approved by the NCRC Executive Board. The NCRC Scholarship Committee Chairperson will be appointed by the NCRC President.
NCRC Scholarship Applicant Qualifications:
- Must be a current graduating high school senior.
- Was, or is currently, a registered volunteer/participant in a North Carroll Recreation Council sponsored activity or program.
- Planning to become a full-time student in a program offered by an organization or institution that has been accredited for that purpose by a state educational authority. Pursuit of a high school equivalency certificate does not qualify for an NCRC Scholarship.
NCRC Scholarship Selection Criteria:
The NCRC Scholarship selection criteria include, but are not limited to: Academic Achievement (requires Official Signed Transcript), Extra-Curricular Participation, documented Community Service and Involvement, NCRC activity participation, and personal references.
An applicant may not be disqualified because of race, creed, sex, or sexual orientation.
